PDF to Word — Free Online Converter
Turn a PDF's text into an editable Word (.docx) document, right in your browser. No uploads, no sign-up, no watermark.
This converter extracts the words into a .docx you can open in Word, Google Docs, or LibreOffice. It is not a layout clone: we do not promise matching columns, in-place images, or tables the way paid Acrobat export does. If you need the look, not the prose, edit the PDF or leave it as PDF.
What carries over — and what we leave on purpose
We read the text items on each page, group them into lines by position, then write each line as a Word paragraph, in page order. That is useful for rewriting, quoting, and translation. Images are not carried over, headers/footers are not separate objects, and column layout is flattened. Tables usually become sequential lines — you rebuild the table in Word if you still need a grid.
Scans and mixed-language files
Real text layers (including Arabic) extract when the PDF actually contains text; you may still need to set RTL in Word after opening. A scanner image has no words to export — run OCR first, then convert. OCR itself struggles with decorative fonts.
When not to convert to Word
- You need a look-alike for signing or official print — keep the PDF or use Edit PDF.
- You plan to round-trip back to PDF for the same design — Word to PDF builds new pages; it does not restore the original file.
- The PDF is a fillable form — a text export drops the fields.
Convert in three steps
- Open the editor with the button above and load a text-based PDF.
- Text is extracted and a .docx is built in the browser.
- Download and open it in any word processor — no watermark, and no coded page cap (memory is the limit).
Questions only this converter should answer
Are images and formatting preserved?
No — one paragraph per reconstructed line. We say so in the download dialog as well.
My file mixes English and Arabic
Extraction follows on-page geometry. Mixed paragraphs may need a manual tidy in Word.
Is the file uploaded?
No. Extraction and the .docx are built on your device.
